To perceive reality, you need a clear stable experience of your own self, as a foundation from which to view the universe.
Once your perceive reality, you see that it is all beautiful.
Most of our experience is inside our own heads. Thoughts, emotions, reactions, opinions, expectations. You need to contact the source of all your experience and perception, which is the silent motionless self at the base of your consciousness. The thoughts, the emotions, the expectations, the reactions will go on while you watch them silently, unmoved, and free to perceive reality and to act correctly.
The stress of everyday living, the things that are happening around you, the things that are reported to you, are all capable of stressing you out. What is necessary is resilience, so you can observe the daily life and the things around you and the things that are reported to you with equanimity, undisturbed, satisfied, calm.
As long as you are carrying around a load of stress, you will be vulnerable to collecting more stress. You must find a way to release the stress that you are carrying, to purify and heal your nervous system.
